On Wednesday, 15th October 2025, Zikodrive marked a decade since the launch of its first official motor controller product. The team celebrated with a night out in Hebden Bridge, enjoying drinks at Vocation Bar and pizza at the local Italian favourite, Fratellis. It was a chance to toast recent achievements and reflect on the memorable moments that have shaped our journey over the last ten years.
When Graham Fick and Phil Bates first conceived the idea of a motor control design business, they could hardly have imagined what it would become a decade later. Starting with just a handful of designs and a homemade website, Zikodrive has grown into a global manufacturer of motor controllers, producing our own designs in a dedicated factory facility and supplying companies large and small across a diverse range of industries.
Over the years, we have navigated component shortages, a global pandemic, and turbulent political events, all while deepening our understanding of customer needs across electronic design, engineering, and manufacturing. We have invested in both people and technology, refining our processes, improving quality, and building strong business relationships. Today, we are proud to be a part of the vibrant British manufacturing community.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way. From organisations like the CKMA, Make UK, and the Calderdale Growth Team, to individuals including Guy Lewis, Dave Cantle, Neil Kendall, and Marie Lang, your contributions have been invaluable. A special thank you goes to our investment partner, SycoTec, for believing in us, as well as the countless customers, partners, and staff whose ongoing support has made this journey possible.
Here’s to the next ten years of innovation, growth, and success!
