Role Overview: Zikodrive is at the forefront of motor control technology, engaging in innovative R&D projects, international cooperation initiatives, and much more. We're seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Developer to refine and spearhead our firmware projects for Brushless DC, sensorless Brushless DC, and stepper motor controls. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in both our standard and custom-designed product development, ensuring that our solutions meet a variety of industry compliance standards. We typically work with dspic33 microcontrollers or STM32, depending on the specific project.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Firmware Development & Optimization:

Review, modify, and optimize firmware for standard and custom-designed motor control applications. Where necessary, write new modules to pre-agreed specifications to operate within pre-defined architectures. Implement best practices for firmware development, with a strong focus on reliability and performance. Projects may be directly related to R&D but could also include custom projects for specific customers.

 

Teamwork & Collaboration:

Foster a productive relationship with the other team members, collaborating where necessary and working in a way that enables others to understand the work done. Collaborate and support test engineers to complete product verification.

 

Compliance & Standards Adherence:

Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure full compliance with industry standards such as MISRA. Please note, these standards are project dependent. Monitor and update processes to remain compliant with evolving regulations and standards.

Facilitate training sessions for the team on compliance-related matters, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned.

 

Testing & Validation:

Direct testing and validation processes, ensuring products consistently meet the highest quality, performance, and compliance standards.

 

Continuous Improvement:

Remain updated with the latest trends and methodologies in motor control systems.

Proactively identify and implement improvements for more streamlined and innovative solutions.

 

Diverse Project Engagement:

Actively participate in a broad spectrum of projects, from innovative R&D ventures to international cooperation projects, ensuring Zikodrive's continued reputation for excellence.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in embedded C programming.
  • Proficiency with Microchip dspic microcontrollers and/or STM32 a significant advantage.
  • Solid grounding in brushless DC, sensorless brushless DC, and stepper motor control systems would be a major advantage.
  • Proven track record in ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Leadership or managerial experience, especially within a technical team setting would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to work individually to complete projects to pre-defined standards but also capable of supporting colleagues with debugging / troubleshooting as required.
