A trip to the Motion Control Industry Awards final beckons once again...

We are delighted to announce that we will once again be visiting the Motion Control Industry Awards Gala Dinner this year to celebrate the achievements of our main design man Graham Fick. Graham is increasingly becoming a household name in the motion control industry and has been shortlisted for Engineer of the Year for the third year running.

Much of this has been for his extensive work on the ZDBL Series of Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor Controllers but a number of customised and bespoke design projects have also featured.

As a previous runner up and winner Graham knows just how strong the competition for such awards can be but is hoping that he can maintain the high standards he set in 2017 when he came home Winner. Graham said, “obviously having won the award the previous year it puts me under extra pressure this time around. I don’t know for sure whether the judge’s take this into account but I’m well aware of the competition and I’m sure there are plenty of engineers out there who would love to take the accolade from me”.

Graham has also been quick to thank his colleagues and clients who have all been important in helping him achieve what he has this year. “Without doubt, having effective and supportive colleagues and focused, driven customers is a big part of what we’ve achieved this year. Without the support of my colleagues and the trust and commitment of some of our bigger customers, there is no way we could have developed the solutions we have.”

Asked about how he saw his future, the Graham was unequivocal – “I’m fully committed to what we’re doing with Zikodrive. The growth we have been experiencing has been phenomenal and some of the plans that our MD Phil has been working on are really exciting. I was quite anxious when we took the big step of starting the company several years ago but now I couldn’t be happier. All the hard work and time we have put in is really paying off. I love the challenges of what we do, working with customers, however difficult the tasks they sometimes present us with. Going into work every morning is truly a joy, even with the cold weather! Being shortlisted for the third year running is another important part of that.”

Everyone at Zikodrive would like to wish Graham all the best for the ceremony at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on April 10th 2018 and if you are coming along as well we look forward to seeing you there!

We may even try live tweeting the award ceremony this year so why not follow us on twitter or alternatively like us on facebook to keep up to date with everything Zikodrive.
