We’re delighted to announce the recruitment of our new employee at Zikodrive, Evie Charles-Greenwood. Evie has joined on a Kickstart training placement and will start work in the factory on a 6 month training programme with a view to creating permanent jobs at the end of the placement period. Evie passed a fairly rigorous recruitment process to join the company and will now start work with Head of Production Marius Sumutiu.
The training programme will consist of training to IPC-A-610 inspection standards and will also cover a range of more practical training including hand soldering, assembly work and the use of the relevant equipment in the factory. These appointments are considered a key part of the recruitment process for Zikodrive, where manufacturing jobs are offered first to young people who are keen to develop a vocation as much as a career and to improve their skills with support from the manufacturing team.
A further part of the Kickstart scheme is the support that candidates get in developing their employability. This part of the process will be directly overseen by Head of Operations Shelley Walker with some support from MD Phil Bates. The aim is to work with the candidate to develop her ability for any future opportunities they she may wish to apply for in the form of training for interviews, CV writing and other key things that can help her later on in careers if she chooses to leave us.
We’d like to take the opportunity to wish Evie good luck in her new position!
